Contract Attorney Opportunity

10th Judicial District Court and Johnson County, Kansas

Johnson County and the 10th Judicial District Court are seeking attorneys to provide legal services in Child in Need of Care proceedings under the Kansas Code for Care of Children. Attorneys may serve as Guardians ad litem, parent attorneys, or child advocates.

Current Opening

Half Contract: $24,200 annually

This is intended to constitute no more than a quarter-time law practice.

Contract Details

  • Contracts are for two years, beginning on the date of hire.
  • Attorneys serve as independent contractors.
  • Caseloads and workloads are assigned and adjusted by the Managing Attorney.
  • Attorneys must agree to accept scheduling and caseload decisions from the Managing Attorney.
  • Applicants must agree to represent parents and serve as a Guardian ad litem or child advocate.
  • Appeals are compensated separately at a flat-fee rate of $1,900.
