2027 JCBA Leadership Application

Thank you for your interest in serving in a leadership role with the Johnson County Bar Association (JCBA). The strength of the Association depends upon the active participation and leadership of its members, and we appreciate your willingness to serve.

Please complete all applicable sections of this application. The information provided will be reviewed by the Leadership Application Committee and the Board of Directors as part of the nomination and selection process.

Applications must be submitted no later than September 15, 2026.

Position(s) of Interest

Officer Positions

President Elect, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer serve on the Board of Directors and help guide the leadership and direction of the Association. Applicants for President Elect and Vice President must have served on the JCBA Board of Directors during the 2026 calendar year.

Board Positions

Elected Director, Membership Committee Chair, and Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) Liaison serve on the Board of Directors, attend monthly Board meetings, support Association initiatives, and serve as ambassadors for the JCBA.

Law Library Trustee

The JCBA elects attorney members to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Johnson County Law Library. This position is separate from the JCBA Board of Directors.

Section Leadership Positions

The Young Lawyers, Solo and Small Firm, and Senior Lawyers Sections elect a Chair Elect and Secretary/Treasurer. Chair Elects automatically succeed to the position of Section Chair the following year. These positions help plan programs, CLEs, networking opportunities, and other activities within their section. Section leadership positions are not members of the Board of Directors by virtue of serving in these roles.

Community Service & Outreach Section Chair

The Community Service & Outreach Section Chair serves a two year term, leads the Community Service & Outreach Section, oversees its committees and initiatives, and serves on the JCBA Board of Directors.
